We’re excited to announce a integration with Global Fishing Watch (GFW) and Skylight, enhancing vessel monitoring capabilities by enabling direct access to detailed vessel activity profiles on these platforms. This integration supports more streamlined, comprehensive vessel tracking and compliance insights.

Key Features

  • Direct Profile Links

    • Triton vessel ID cards now include clickable links to Global Fishing Watch (GFW) and Skylight profiles, providing users with immediate access to external vessel tracking data. MMSI serves as the primary identifier

  • Enhanced Monitoring:

    • Global Fishing Watch Map: Utilizes automatic identification system (AIS) and Vessel monitoring system (VMS) data to identify vessel locations and fishing efforts. The platform also integrates data from the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) to detect lights from fishing boats that may not be transmitting AIS. Its analysis algorithms help differentiate between fishing and non-fishing activities.

    • Skylight: Uses AIS data but integrates SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) and optical satellite imagery to detect vessels that may have turned off their AIS (a common practice among IUU fishers). Skylight’s machine learning algorithms analyze vessel behavior and movement patterns to identify potential illegal activities.

This integration supports Triton’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in the maritime sector. By connecting ultimate beneficiary ownership data of Triton with GFW’s and Skylight’s real-time monitoring insights, users can now make more informed decisions regarding maritime compliance and environmental sustainability.

Note: Skylight access requires login. Once logged in, users will be redirected to the specific vessel profile, ensuring seamless continuity from the Triton platform.
